All Turnbull really needs to do is wait until the Liberals come to their senses and topple Abbott, or Abbott ends up losing the next Australian federal election because Abbott is in over his head. Abbott is essentially the beneficiary of a chain of fortuitous circumstances- Rudd’s cackhanded approach to strategic management and his Queenslander technocrat authoritarianism, and the sclerotic incumbency fatigue that overtook the Victoria, NSW and Queensland ALP State Governments. Which, notably, didn’t happen in the Australian Capital Territory election.
I like the guy. Turnbull shares many attributes with John Key. As for Gillard, I don’t really like her all that much, but the mad monk is worse. Only just.
